Was in Fargate earlier and the coin machine was out of order. You didn't break it did you

 

I did say it was old.

 

Looks like something from the 1980's and really noisey

You need a sort code and account number with HSBC / FD / M&S.

Yes it is just for HSBC customers (plus listed affiliates above). The money when deposited goes straight into your account. Natwest have one too.

 

The machines you are talking about that charge are run by private enterprises, usually situated in supermarkets, who cream a percentage off to make it worth while and spit out the rest in the form of a voucher to either spend in the store or redeem at Customer Services.
