HSBC Coin Counting machines in Sheffield

Recommended Posts

They have them in Sainsburys (at least Dronfield does). Of course, you are repaid in cash at the customer counter.

I assume I can pay coins into my M&S account (a front for HSBC) using this as well? I'm glad I found this out :D

You have to put your HSBC card into the machine to use it.

I'll go and check. My card counts as a HSBC card for paying into the other machines.

The one at Meadowhall doesn't do that.

You punch in the numbers of your sort code and account number

You can use it - First Direct and M&S cards are valid too, I've used it with my FD one.

I put £25 in coppers into one the other day. As I don't bank with HSBC, I'd rather them take 9.9% than me have to spend ages counting them into money bags to take to the bank!

I'm always amazed that anyone uses these, with them charging, but it seems laziness overcomes paying banks yet more money for doing nothing. Counting coins is theraputic too.
