DerbyTup   10 #29 Posted July 26, 2016 (edited) We found something for both of us to do.... We broke up. 7 years.   I thought that was coming!  Thing is, you can be totally different people with different interests, but if you don't have some things in common, and most importantly, the same "values" then it's going nowhere I'm afraid.  Don't wait many years or more to discover that's true. That's my advice anyhow.  Some years ago I studied some stuff about "cultures". I won't get too technical about it, but essentially it said that you should take a quadrant with 4 boxes in it. Imagine that square window with 4 window panes in it for example...  Now write "Self", "Friends", "Work", "Family" in each quadrant.  Then draw a circle over the entire window and put the biggest bit in the quadrant where you spend most time.  Did your circle end up in one quadrant only? Really? Which one?  Did it mainly cover 2 or 3 quadrants? Which one did it miss out on?  In an ideal world, and few of us have this, it would be perfectly equal across all four quadrants. Suggesting that you have a nice balance of time for yourself, time with friends, time at work and time with family.  Try it and see where you are missing out and try and get it to balance more evenly across all four. It's not a cure, but it's a start. Good luck! Edited July 26, 2016 by DerbyTup
 Share this content via...
