Exactly better deserved than some of the shiny-trousered Whitehall loafers who collect 'higher' honours plus their fat civil service pensions for sucking up to politicians .. whoops slight hint of bitterness creeping in!!

Finally an award to someone who deserves, I'm sure everyone agrees he deserves much higher. I wonder how many sports stars, tv personalities, pop stars, film stars would do so much for their art if the pay wasn't so well.

I can never understand why sports people, pop stars, TV & film stars etc are given gongs and especially KNIGHTHOODS. They are all just doing a job and one which they enjoy too !!!!!!

 

Honours should be awarded to people like John who really deserve them.
