Cheapest Tow Bar Fitting?

Recommended Posts

Any half decent garage should be able to sort it, although getting it sorted at such short notice isn't so easy.

I assume you have the complete towbar kit for your vehicle ready to be fitted??

Hello all

I'm awaiting my new car being delivered and I've been looking around for tow bar prices

I have fitted my own tow bars to previous vehicles but with this one being brand new I need to have it fitted by a VAT registered company in order to retain the warranty

I've tried Towsure and a company reccomended by the Citroen dealer but they want silly money

I've had a quote from a Scunthorpe company that I used to get my tow bars from and their cheapest quote is £300 + VAT

Any suggestions on getting it cheaper than the above price?

Regards

Mark

For warranty you may find that an aftermarket "universal" electrics pack doesn't cut it so you're being quoted for a pack specifically to integrate with your car.

That's probably why you are in those figures. Splicing a towing socket into the wiring (through a can-bus bypass relay) is cheaper but doesn't allow for the modern "extras" that detect a trailer and can lead to warranty quibbles, regardless of the VAT-status of the fitter..

Terribly expensive. Like a mafia, only it's 'an offer' you can refuse.

The best bet is to buy your own at a best value price and then contact various small garages who'll fit it.

But Towsure, who I've price checked over the years are extortionate. You are paying for the premises, the set up and possibly a villa in Spain.
