Y is Sheffield furum full of sarcastic people that dont no what there talking about I .work away from home all the time so I am in titled to a food allowance not my full weekly shop. working from home is not the same as working a way from home and yes my spelling is rubbish and I dont need reminding that my 10 year son can spell better than me . and for the sarcastic people on here I am dyslexic so feel free to email me some more that my spelling is rong

Hi Mike,

If you're referring to my post; I certainly didn't intend to come across as sarcastic or unhelpful; and to be honest, I don't think my post read that way either.

My question about being able to claim expenses for food while working at home, was a genuine query. I also am a business owner, and work from home.

So anyways, just for the record, there was no malice or sarcasm on my part.

Best of luck finding a good accountant! :)

Waldo, you have to be away from home (from HMRC site)

"If you have to travel for your work you may be able to claim tax relief on the cost or money you’ve spent on food or overnight expenses, called ‘subsistence’.

You can’t claim for travelling to where you work, unless it’s a temporary place of work.

Expenses you can claim tax relief on from your business journey include:

public transport costs

hotel accommodation if you have to stay overnight

food and drink

congestion charges and tolls

parking fees

business phone calls, fax and photocopying costs"

but an accountant should be able to clarify it for you

I have filed self-assessments and annual returns for family and friends for years including my daughter's business Hardwick Hounds, The Magic Trust and Just Ask Jude.

I am looking for my first clients so offering self-assessment tax returns for £75 atm and

Hi

Anyone recommend an accountant to do my yearly tax return?

Been using a local shop accountant for the last 3 years but they charge £400.

Could do with someone local to S6/S35 area.

Cheers in advance.
