NORTH OF THE FALL ‘RUN(A)WAY’ WITH GRAND PRIZE!

Bring together 25 bands, 25 filmmakers and just two weeks to make a music video from scratch and you get 2Weeks2MakeIt. This unique music video competition, led by The South Yorkshire Film Network, aims to bring amateur and professional filmmakers and musicians together to create an innovative, imaginative and collaborative film. All of the submitted videos were of an impressive standard, however, metal band North Of The Fall and filmmakers Team Bootcamp went the extra mile. This ambitious, cinematic video - complete with the band rocking out at the end of an airport runway – impressed the competition judges so much, it won by a massive 16 overall points!

The Showroom Cinema played host to the competition Awards Gala on Sunday 8 May and despite the gorgeous weather, it was a sell out! The 282-seat venue was packed with an excitable audience of bands, filmmakers, cast, fans and friends waiting to see who was going to win big. Thanks to a huge list of generous sponsors and supporters, the winning teams not only took home cash prizes but rehearsal and recording time, a distribution deal, equipment hire and much more - over £5,000 of prizes were given away, plus plans for a horde of screenings and gig opportunities coming up over the next few months for all the winners.

The other award-winning videos came from Bongo & The Soul Jar with Brother Bear, Mango Rescue Team with J’Adore Films and Molly Anna Band with Grit Street. But this competition isn’t just about the prizes. This experience is about bringing together creative minds, collaborating on new ideas, working quickly, making connections and forming friendships. That’s what 2Weeks2Make It is all about, really.

You can see all 25 videos from the 2016 competition on The SYFN website or YouTube channel and choose your favourite!
