The intro to this track always made the hair on the back of my neck stand up:

But only on the original LP version. They ruined the intro on

.

I can't listen to that original Layla with Derek and the dominos now.

"Blocked on copyright grounds"

Get the album, they only made one. Derek and the Dominoes Layla and assorted love songs. A lot of great tracks. The late Duane Allman was probably better than Clapton on guitar at that point in time. Bell Bottom Blues is the best song on the album , in my opinion, and that includes Layla.

Anybody mentioned A Hard Day's Night yet ? LOL Every Tom, Dick and Harry has tried to figure out that one stroke of the guitar of George Harrison's, that starts the song, but George never let on.

Oh I don't know about that, there is so much more other music I like too, but thanks for the suggestion.

Not the best song intro of all time, perhaps, but one of my favourites for 46 years.

Jingo — Santana [from 0.05].

Scant on lyrics, so perhaps the whole track is an intro — but with a baby-faced Carlos to boot.

Baba O'Riley

Don't Stop Believin'

Gimme Shelter

Like a Rolling Stone

How Soon is Now?

Great question, I could list loads.

I'd forgotten about that one, and I love it all the way through.

Among all these good choices, such as the great timeless classics that include Baker Street, Hotel California etc, as well as the lesser known ones contributed.

I really think this deserves a mention.
