I don't want to sound like a party pooper but I have to agree with some of the other posters.

These modern day school discos are becoming a bit of a farce.

With frocks, limos, party buses and now horses people are putting more effort and money in to their little dahlings ending school term than some others put into their wedding days.

This particular American import just keeps getting more and more inflated.

Some years ago when my kid was at primary school, one silly billy parent got a stretch limo for her daughter for the end of term disco - down right embarrassing.

Time have changed people. Nowa days things have to big, brash and very American. Gone are the days of the discos that were about celebrating the end of school and looking forward to growing up and starting a new chapter in life.

Now its about the haves and have nots. One-upmanship and all that jazz. Im glad i am well and truly out of it.

When did school discos morph into proms, anyway? I'm old and, thankfully, child-free, so Wham and Duran Duran were still in the charts the last time I was concerned with such things.
