Star Flyer ride on Fargate

Recommended Posts

Just when the tacky fairground rides had gone we are now cursed with this monstrosity! And don't get me started on the abomination which gets so inappropriately sited by the side of the war memorial in Barkers pool and terrifies me with the closeness it comes to the side of the City Hall. And before anyone says these things are safe, there are a few unfortunate young people who learned the hard way that Alton Towers rollercoaster wasn't safe.

Silliest post of the thread award

Good evening ormester101 I wondered how long it would take before you would jump on the carousel so to speak. You should have a chat with your alter ego Escort1.

If the carnies are going to charge over a fiver for this ride then I hope it is a major flop. It would be much better suited in another city such as Leeds or York.

yeah ok you think that in your silly little world i know me and escort are a different person but believe what you want . Carnies lol maybe you should read up the proper word .

It comes as no surprise to find that this thread appears to be full of utterly miserable sods who never want anything to happen here, it really is pathetic. :loopy:

Hey, not all of us feel that way...

... I think the erection of a phallic structure right outside the town hall is a very symbolic indicator as to how a lot of people are feeling about things at the moment!

You look but you don't SEE ! Most city centres are more quiet during the day midweek than at the weekends.

There are definitely more than just charity and pound shops in town..... Lots are lovely unique shops now in the Devonshire Quarter and West Street and the Moor is very busy now.

Weekends in the Sheffield city centre are really busy - it's lovely to see people coming into town to do their shopping and socialising.

If you can't stand the noise of the rides in town during the school holidays I doubt you will enjoy Meadowhall ! Have you ever been there during the school hols !:)

Why do you think I hate Meadowhell?

More down market nonsense. The traveller fair the council insist on bringing to fargate each school holidays is so last century. Does any forward thinking big city still persevere with such tripe?

We can jump on the band wagon and bring this latest thing but are so far behind Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool it's embarrassing.

Erm, this was in Liverpool city centre too, in Chavasse Park.

utter crap if you looked into why smiler had the accident then you know it was human error .

tacky dear me youre clueless

So human error can never happen again - possibly during the construction of these horrors? And yes, tacky and cheap looking rubbish, totally inappropriate for the nicest part of the city centre. Lets have a bit of class for a change and bring back the wheel for a while. (Awaits next round of juvenile name calling!)

It was your poor use of spelling and grammar that gave the game away. You post under at least three different user names that I know of. May I suggest Daniel that if you start a thread that your replies within that thread are done using the same user name.

Earlier in the thread you replied to one of the posts and referred to the person as a numpty. I find that a much more derogatory remark than calling a carnie a carnie.

I know but they have so much more going for them as a city centre already before bringing this ride along.

How can I have lost an argument? I offer an opinion, you attack me/my opinion by calling me a numpty, I point out the irony of you calling me a numpty with your lower primary school level of literacy. Do you follow?

Good afternoon Bassett one or is it escort 1 or ormester101.

What a great idea about the giant funfair in the city centre. A giant fairground is just what the city needs to help revive it's fortunes.
