Thebug   10 #1 Posted April 13, 2016 Hi  Myself and two friends are doing the yorkshire 3 peaks in May. We have done lots of training walks and are prepared quite physically. However, One thing that keeps happening on our walks is that we keep getting lost!  Thankfully on the actual 3 peaks day we have a guide so that wont happen.  We are planning our final training walk at the end of April and I just wondered if anyone knew of any good hill walks that we wont get lost!  Ideally no more than an hour away from Rotherham.  Many Thanks  Katie
 Share this content via...
vwkittie   10 #2 Posted April 13, 2016 Have you considered using a GPS device so you won't get lost?  I use ViewRanger on my phone and it's very good.  Also someone a few posts down looks to be doing navigation courses that might be useful
 Share this content via...

Fudbeer   12 #4 Posted April 13, 2016 You could park near yorkshire bridge pub then go up win hill (very steep) descend the other side then and go up lose hill then return the same way lots of height gain there!  Plenty of options to add on if not long enough.  Very straight forward route but check your map if unfamiliar with area. Shamblers   10 #6 Posted April 13, 2016 If you can follow a map then this is a good site for you, you have the option to choose why type of walk you are after.  http://www.walkingworld.com  ---------- Post added 13-04-2016 at 17:31 ----------  Also if you can read a map but still find yourself getting lost there is a handy free app called OS Locate which will give you a grid reference as to where you are.
