32GB SD card in a phone designed for 16GB?

Recommended Posts

picked up a cheap Samsung S5611 and want to add a memory card for music and photos

the specs says 16GB max but I wondered if 32 would work too? - or is there a technical reason for only 16?

looking at one of these cards, but bigger would be better (and probably more useful in the future)

some phones will support it but might not be stable, you could end up with corrupt data

Probably best to stick to 16GB.

You might find it runs like a pig with loads of stuff on it anyway, it's only a cheap budget phone so you can't expect miracles.

Probably untested at 32Gb, either due to the costs or availability of the card during testing?
