Hi Tiger-lily,

Ada Beatrice Green born 21 April 1897 Unpaid home duties.

Record officially closed.

Ernest Green born 14 May 1921 General labourer heavy work.

Thank you Moira, this is my family. I want to trace my family tree but struggle with what to look at. I want to know if there is any living relatives of my grandads and where the green family originated from.

I have looked on both the 1901 and 1911 census, but there are a few Albert Green's

born around the same time as your Albert.

On the 'Free BMD' site, I found this marriage:

Oct-Nov-Dec quarter 1915, Ref: Ecclasall B 9c 707.

Albert Green to Ada B. Osborne.

I think it might be a good idea if you order a copy of this certificate,

as it will give you the name of Albert's father.

Once you have this, it should make it easier to find Albert on census records.

Moira.

Originally, Dore and Totley were in Derbyshire but eventually came under Yorkshire.

If you Google 'Totley History Group' (Totley All Saints) you should be able to

find more information including baptisms, marriages and burials. You should be able

to find the burial of Elizabeth Green - Albert's mother.

Hi gaz 786 - I looked at this soon after the thread started but couldn't add anything to  the detailed information that Moira had found. It's nice that KMG has joined the thread  and is related to the family.
