For anyone needing this service, we used Bells&Buxton for the notary.Very efficient all completed in the time they said & a better fee than a lot of others we phoned.

The only local Notaries Public of which I was aware are:

a. Charles Neal at Messrs Bell & Buxton LLP (Sheffield); and

b. Anna Cattee ar Messrs BRM Law Ltd (Chesterfield).

Can anyone help with a solicitors that provides this service in Sheffield please?We have contacted 4 already but they either don't provide this or are kindly pointing us to other branches out of Sheffield.Thank you.

Anyway, why a Notary? There's virtually no role for them under UK law.

Hello Jeffrey,it is for our son who teaches at a university in China. There's a new law in some provinces that now require the notary.In September he starts at a different university in Wuhan which needed the notary of his masters certificate. Hope this explains it?

Yes, although many foreign jurisdictions will accept documents certified by an England/Wales solicitor holding a Practising Certificate.
