blake
I notice the Republican party is trying to stop Trump. they must know that intelligent Republicans and floating voters will not vote for him. It would be a shoe in for the Dumocrats. It would be shoe in anyway. Before 1992, the Republicans were the ones that usually used to win American presidential elections. And always by large margins. After Clinton in 1992 it changed. Since then the Republicans have only won 2 out 5 and both not comfortably like before, but narrowly.
Hogg
Trump is a populist politician and even though he is stinking rich, is managing to voice the pain of the American blue collar and lower middle class white collar workers who have seen such a drop in their living standards and in the prospects of their children. The fact that he is such a nasty piece of work won't stop him getting the nomination but it will stop him becoming President. Clinton will be the one in the White House, even though she comes with so much baggage. And, baggage aside, it will be good to see a woman President and one so experienced, knowledgeable and, generally, competent.

tinfoilhat
Trump said something yesterday that was rather telling. Hes "flexible" apparently. I suspect that doesn't mean he does yoga, I think it means like Nick Clegg was flexible. If elected, in 4 years time there will be a lot of rednecks wondering why Mexico hasn't been walled off and why muslims aren't in camps.
Solomon1
After reading some of the details about 'Trump University', which was never a university in the first place, which seemed to have only one entrance qualification, i.e. possession of a credit card, and which employed classic 'bait and switch' techniques to extract money from its 'students', I would have to say 'yes' in this instance. I don't know enough about his other business dealings to say whether this behaviour was typical of him. However, the Trump university allegations, if found to be true in the forthcoming court case, should be enough to disqualify him from becoming the next POTUS. TOTAL conman! :gag: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGc2nN9OguQ "Make Donald Drumpf again" ---------- Post added 04-03-2016 at 17:58 ---------- " A litigious serial liar with a string of broken business ventures"
glennpickard
Trump is taking a hammering now, from Romney, McCain and Cruz/Rubio etc, mainly on his failed companies (Casinos/University/Mortgages etc), and the disparaging pedantic attitude he has to anyone having a different opinion. Up until two weeks ago the other candidates were all very submissive towards him (I hope I'm the last to be eaten by the big bad crocodile !) Massive governance change is needed away from the status quo politicians, but could he deliver it ? He has one policy "We are going to be great again, you will love it !" with no details. A vote for him would be a real shot in the dark, but many appear to be ready to take it. A more significant outcome than him winning or losing, is whether or not he will split the Republican party in two !

princeowales
You will only ever hear about Trump's successes and never his failings, which can be quite alarming. Didn't he buy Rockafella Plaza on 5th Ave for a fantastic amount of money and then forced to sell it to a Japanese consortium for a very heavy loss. But....he is very smart, very smart indeed, only a fool would underestimate him. His approach now, his rhetoric, will, over the next few months change so that he will have millions of people, who previously cursed him, will praise him. Also, let's not forget that it was the senior members of the republican party that, 3 years ago, after the Mitt Romney disaster, pleaded with Trump to run and he refused - only last year he succumbed. Do you think he has forgotten about this. No. He will use it to it's maximum use in his own time.
Daryl3434
donald trump's rallies is the confidence .amateur psychologists have wishfully diagnosed him from afar as insecure, the american political system is his easiest mark ever.
chalga
It will be a shame when the Republican debates finish, the comedy genius of Trump/Cruz/Rubio together is class entertainment. Trump doesn't even have to say anything, just the sight of him standing up there with that indignant look on his face while he's waiting for the other 2 to start on him is enough. Surely they can get their own show together after the circus is over,or a slot on one of the talk shows where they can do a few sketches per show.
