rogets
What is this a free for all? Why can't kids walk too school anymore, all too often you get a child who lives 100 meters away from a school getting a lift to school, the parents desperately trying to park next to the school gates so their child doesn't have to walk the 100 meters from their home to the school. Its getting up my nose. Perhaps if these parents were lectured and given red cards they may think twice? Something needs to be done.

At our Primary School we have tried the "lecturing" both in newsletters and having other parents asking people not to park inconsiderately but, as it's not illegal and, until a serious accident happens, nothing will change people's minds or behaviours. geared
Often it is illegal but they'll do it anyway. The council might send a traffic warden round, but then the morons will be up in arms causing a massive scene.
Hopman
It's not safe to walk because of all the traffic fumes. (!)
rogets
Why can't kids walk to school these days? We used to When I was at school it was embarrassing to be seen getting a lift from your parents. All your mates walking to school, but you get a lift to the school gate from your mum? Not good for your street cred ---------- Post added 23-02-2016 at 10:57 ---------- Often it is illegal but they'll do it anyway. And a red card

rogets
Do you qualify for the first red card No, but red cards I think need to be issued for offenders. Maybe this will help people think twice? Would it be the solution?
alchemist
Round my way they park on the yellow lines and the pavement and even next to the sign asking them not to park there!!! I have complained to the police and all they did was give me the 101 number!! Rang them and they said they would look into it. Obviously they didnt as its 6 months later and its still happening Mind the lazy kids are getting fatter and no doubt the parents are wondering why!! Notts County Council have just set up a camera car to randomly patrol schools at drop off and pick up times to address exactly these sort of behaviours. And a red card I can't think of anything easier to ignore than some random moaning at you and waving a piece of red card around.
