Best song ever?

Recommended Posts

Lol, you could ask a hundred people that question and get a hundred different songs. I could probably pick a hundred myself. However, if I have to name just one, I would say " Where Have All The Flowers Gone?'' written by the late Pete Seeger and recorded by many. This song, in my opinion, is the greatest anti-war song ever made, which for me, makes it a significant and important piece.

The lesser known Queen song "One year of love" has to be up there. It's from the movie Highlander.

its one of those questions that there isn't one answer to. I would struggle between

Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy

Deee-Lite - Groove is in the heart (those two are my funeral songs)

Fairground Attraction - Comedy Waltz

Scott Mackenzie - San Franscisco

Frankie Knuckles - Your Love

and probably a 100 more but some great songs in this thread

Bob the Builder took time off work to make two hits and hasn't had a mention.  Poor Bugger.  :hihi:

If we're going down the anti-war song road, then Barry McGuire's 'Eve of Destruction' (1965) takes some beating for me. Some prophetic lyrics in there too.

There you go Patricia. I'm guessing you will know the Scott McKenzie track when you hear it and Comedy Waltz might appeal to you

Love the Scott McKenzie track as didn’t realise it was THAT song. Not keen on the Comedy Waltz though.
