Speaking about Wilder, its ok to talk about a managers previous success but Adkins came with a good reputation and look where that has got us, Clough got us as near as we have ever been and was sacked after less than two seasons by a board who also had the good sense to engage David Weir.

Danny 'Owls' Wilson came closest to getting you out of L1 and was sacked at a ridiculous time.

Agreed,

The clough sacking was a 50/50.

The timing of the Wilson sacking was mental, especially putting Morgan in charge

What about sacking Blackwell after TWO league games? Result: Relegation.

Ever since coming down from the prem it's been a sucession of bad appointments and mistimed sackings. Not sure which category Adkins will end up in.

I think mccabe needs to stay out of the football side of united and bring someone in to advise on that side of things, he's made some awful decisions and it could be a long, long road back.

The difficulty you have now is to decide whether Adkins is the right man, with his past record you would have thought even he could get something out of an average, overstuffed squad, you could let him have a clearout and build his own equally inept team.
