Mr Bloke
Apparently, one of the whales beached on the Lincs coast has been brought to one of Sheffield's landfill sites. Why don't they simply bury them there on the beach, or tow them back out to sea? Surely it would have made more sense to take it to Cardiff... or Swansea... or LLanfair... Llanfairpwll... LLanfairpwllgwyng... Rhyl?

ANGELFIRE1
Should have towed them out to sea, then blown them apart and let nature take care of the residue. A terrible shame for these creatures to end up like they did. Angel1.
Markus66
As the bodies are in a secluded location, push the bodies together, and burn them on a pyre. anyone remember the foot and mouth pyres with thousands of animals being incinerated? Annie Bynnol
Where is the landfill site in Sheffield? I suppose we will know where the landfill site in Sheffield is by using our nose.
Eater Sundae
It's a pity they can't find a use for the carcase. Power station fuel? Convert the fat to diesel? etc.

Agent Orange
Yes, I heard this too. Maybe they don't have a boat powerful enough to tow them out to sea, its a shame, if this is the case - seems a waste of a potential huge food source for sea creatures. That would be a danger to shipping. The North Sea is a very busy with boats/ships and the last thing you would want is several dead whales bobbling about causing chaos. Not only that, there is the risk these whales could end up washed up on a beach somewhere.
beefface
I suppose Skeggy has had it's share of beached whales coming from Sheffield in it's time.
