I am curious as to why you singling out Vanessa Feltz  on that list?

If your point is that they are all obscenely overpaid then say so but I really don't understand why one person is the focus of your criticism.

Whether or not someone personally likes her, she is an experienced presenter who not only broadcasts daily on their flagship national radio station but also separately presents daily on their largest regional station and on top of that sits in and covers lunchtime shifts when others are on holiday.

That will come with a premium and if I was doing 2 or even 3 gigs each day I would expect to be on more than some of my fellow presenter colleagues too.

To be fair compared to the sum that Chris Evans got for barely doing one show a day or the pay shmuck Steve Wright earns for basically phoning it in using the same 30 year old  jokes and format...... Nessa's pay demand seems like a bit of a bargain.

As with all of these pay revelations that come out every single year in the report the fact remains that BBC pay is in the majority significantly less than any of the other commercial rivals.

No-one is saying that the BBC should or even does try to compete with commercial levels of money but they have to offer at least something meaty to attract and retain Talent.

Now I know lots of us sit there going "I could do that" or "all that money for reading autocue" but the reality is presentation work and attracting an audience is a specialist skill, is hard work often coming with far less longevity and security than most jobs have.  Like it or not that does come with a certain level of renumeration.

As always I'm sure there are plenty who would be delighted if the licence fee was pulled tomorrow.  But just think, with free-to-air television and radio gone what's likely to happen all those Sky, Amazon, Netflix subscription costs one there's a captive audience with no other choice.

With broadcasters solely at the mercy of their advertising Paymasters what do people think is going to happen to any sort of independence alternative opinion or free from influence programmes.

You do go on a bit don't you?  CBA to read it all to be honest. She's just a prime example of someone in the BBC being paid way beyond her talent.

Genuine email: "You've just days left to renew your TV Licence

from: TV Licensing <donotreply@tvlicensing.co.uk>

"Your TV Licence expires on 30 September 2020 – please renew today".

Had the same email  from them last year,

So I will take the same action, I will pay up/renew, a week after my licence expires!

Sorry I don't understand why a week after it has expired?

For their cheek,  asking "please renew today",  payment is not due until 30/09/20, they say " "You've just days left to renew".

I would call that 'weeks'?

She does the stupidly early morning shift then one just for London. I can't say much about the BBC London job but I don't think she's much cop at the morning job, but then neither is the disturbingly manic Zoe ball. I'd have prefred Coxy.

If any company think they're worth more, theyll have them.

(Ken Bruce is worth every penny).

I generally renew after a month, or at least untill I have been paid.

When they start rewarding paying early, I will pay early.

If I submitted a bill for my services to number 10, I am guessing I wouldnt get paid straight away.

An anti-BBC campaign group founded by Brexiteers has raised nearly £60,000 in crowdfunding donations as it pushes for radical reform of the licence fee.

Looks like the penny has finally dropped at the BBC.

You do realise that during that week that you are unlicensed if you watch live television broadcasts then you are breaking the law and could face criminal prosecution and a £1000 fine?

Of course BAME people, disadvantaged and poorer audiences and those people living in Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland are realising more and more that the privileged, wealthy middle class and out of touch BBC does not represent them in any shape or form and no longer wish to consume BBC content.

BBC 4 radio presenter James Naughtie worked 23 hours for the BBC in 2019/20 and was paid 175,000 (£7,608 an hour or £126 a minute).

Pensioners need to pay their TV Licence to fund these BBC parasites.

Ha.  Here he is.  Right on cue with the blatent lies and twisting of the article.

No.  He did not merely "work for 23 hours" he was on air for 23 hours. That is a big difference. There is lots of other work involved in being a presenter and journalist which goes off screen.

You need to get a clue about how broadcasting works.  Take a look at most radio series and tv programmes.  How many half hour or hour long episodes are broadcast in an average year.   Are you going to argue that say quiz show hosts or comedians or presenters only work 10/12/20 hours a year because that's the only time you see them??   Doesn't work like that does it.

Lawyers dont just get paid for the time they are in court.   Teachers and Professors dont just get paid for the time they are presenting in a classroom.  Actors dont get paid just for time they are on stage and footballers dont just get paid for those 90 minutes on a pitch once a week.

Its another Scum and Daily Fail hatchet job to push their already well established anti-BBC agenda designed to get people just like you all frothy mouthed.

Yes pensioners CHOOSING to access live broadcast television do need to pay their TV licence, just like anyone else.  They were perfectly content paying for it up until 2001 when Gordon Brown dangled some election bribe in front of them and they can get used to paying it again now their freebie has been withdrawn.
