You miss out on some good TV, radio and web service - unless you're a big hypocrit of course.

A lot of its twaddle though ;)

Rarely watch live TV. I watch MOTD on catchup.

Refuse flat out to pay for strictly come dancing!

P.S Having defended the BBC to some extent I must say that the letters sent out by the licensing authority are the most threatening ,offensive and unhelpful communications I have come across. My own experiences followed the purchase of a caravan for which they relentlessly demanded a license.

Not just to me (although you're very welcome) but to people on benifits, low paid, the struggling fledging entrepreneurs who fork out their licence fee so the bbc can successfully bid so you can watch match of the day for free.

Say "thanks poor people, for having more moral fibre than I've got"

I heard that TVL still do this but my Uni days are long behind me so i couldn't say for sure.

I was at a friends recently and they turned up then. Oh My GOD! The lies this guy told my friend at the door were incredible. Some funny but most distressing when you consider not everyone is as confident at dealing with doorstep salesmen and pests as my friend is. Im sure TVL know the methods used by Capita but i think they just don't care.

Capita...what can be said?

Yes we even had a lecture from capita / the uni about it!

of course almost eveyone rebeled!

Some over 75's are quite wealthy... nothing wrong in asking them to contribute..

It's a fair point though I wonder if the so called Silver Celebrities will be waiving their fee for doing the BBC's pleading. Look, I think that the BBC is great on the whole, but they don't help themselves with this sort of rubbish. It looks and feels like politics, which isn't their remit.

But they are complying with the law. You are a hypocrit (I'd have let it slide if you said you never used it).
