tinfoilhat
I'm starting a new one as the last one is dated 2006. I use outlook but new (additional) pc means a new email client. Anything else worth considering or am I forking out £££s for outlook 2015?

tinfoilhat
Google found this http://bestwindows10apps.com/best-email-clients-windows-10/ I was hoping for a bit feedback on the email clients the forum users actually use.
Phanerothyme
Thunderbird. It's a very capable client indeed.
tinfoilhat
Thankyou I'm having a bit of a mess about with it now. I'm after a client that can stick a few accounts into one folder (which I believe windows mail will) but then break them down by subject into different folders I will create (which I believe windows mail won't do). Outlook 2007 basically ;) Thunderbird is looking a bit more outlook 2010 (seperate folders for seperate accounts) - which I quite like (very outlook 2010 really) but I'm not using it! swarfendor437
ClawsMail - for secure experience - Thunderbird has vulnerability in both Windows and GNU/Linux! http://www.claws-mail.org/ Edited January 20, 2016 by swarfendor43
tinfoilhat
EM Client is the best one so far... (from personal experience) Tried to download this and windows had a strop "The signature of setup.msi is corrupt or invalid".
Phanerothyme
Thunderbird has vulnerability in both Windows and GNU/Linux! Link me happy to T-Bird vulnerabilities?
swarfendor437
Link me happy to T-Bird vulnerabilities? http://www.tomsguide.com/answers/id-2803145/thunderbird-secure.html#16651818 But it appears to have been rectified since the publication of that article in computeractive? Ubuntu security bulletin: http://www.ubuntu.com/usn/USN-2859-1/ Both appear to have been cleared up - but I only recently discovered the issue a few weeks back - after browsing the computer active magazine in the supermarket on Apps not to use is when I switched to Claws Mail - I am more than happy with its performance - but may be a learning curve for some but very easy to set up. I think Thunderbird is lagging behind Firefox because I am sure I read somewhere that Mozilla were concentrating the bulk of its efforts on Firefox and letting Thunderbird 'slide' to some extent on its 'focus' being primarily Firefox - and why not with a $300 M injection from Google! AlexAtkin
IMO any piece of software that is not having vulnerabilities discovered every once in a while, is a dangerous piece of software because nobody must be looking for vulnerabilities on it.
