mikeG
I've tried reducing view/zoom from 100% to 75% but this reduces the depth not the width. The arrows on the right to scroll up/down have all but been pushed off screen. Any ideas how to reduce screen display width?
Kidorry
Have you tried ctrl -?It may be O.K. for you.
mikeG
cntrl - reduces zoom to 10%. cntrl -? produces an intermittent beep but screen remains the same. The screen display was ok until after a Windows 10 automatic update.
Kidorry
Can you do a system restore to before the update and then turn off automatic updates?
mikeG
Friend on Facebook suggested cntrl plus turn wheel on mouse. It works but the arrows for scrolling are outside the shrinkable area. I may do a restore if all else fails but that's getting a bit technical for me.
Ghozer
Is there an "Auto" button on the monitor? press it? Also, try dragging the window off to the left, it may be that it's been moved too far off the right side so the scroll bars aren't visible etc... Shouldnt need to do a system restore either, if there was a driver update or something, you can roll that back without doing a restore...
stimpy
Assuming you have set the correct resolution with display settings, you might need to tweak the settings on the monitor if there not quite right.
steroc
Your monitor may be set to overscan. If you are using a TV as a monitor via HDMI this is more than likely. Change picture settings on TV/monitor to PC mode or native. Google 'overscan' and your make/model of TV/monitor for exact instructions. mikeG
When I logged off/on, Windows updated and the screen is back to normal. We live and learn.
