So what keeps hijacking my browser?

sounds like its installed along with something else youve installed, i always use the custom installer and check for hidden options for other "crap" to be installed as well

theres lots of removal links on google about it, but be careful at least one i saw was trying to get you to install various "removers" that ive never heard of

check this one out for manual removal (warning - ive not actually checked it out, but it wont hurt to go to the places mentioned and see if the relevent files are there?) and ignore the terrible english lol

* Check extensions and plugins. If there is something you are not sure of, disable everything. Re-enable them one at a time to determine if one of them is the problem.

* Run CCleaner. Also consider setting the browser to clear history/cookies when closed.

* Try Hijack This. If you use it be careful where you get it from because it will probably have more of the same. Filehippo seems OK.

* Try another malware product e.g. Superantispyware.

* Once the computer is clean purge system restore.

* Make sure your computer is up to date, system and anti virus.

Kiddory, Silverlight is a Microsoft application, as long as it is updating form a trusted source then you should do it. It is used by loads of web sites and is not dangerous or dodgy.

Hi Jomie, I reset IE and Chrome defaults when it happens and only use Google for searches. I find it odd that it keeps finding its way back! I've also disabled anything unidentified in startup with msconfig. Malwarebytes usually gets rid of anything and picks it up as soon as it starts causing issues and deletes it... Weird that it can't seem to find the source.
