David Cameron (yes that bloke who secretly fast tracked Sharia Law into legal practice behind our backs) issued a statement pleading for MP's to continue to run the country during the leave the EU capaign, but the very next day he bans them from doing what many of their constituents want them to.

What is it Dave, do what many want them to or to shut up, if its shut up, then what's the point of going in?

The plea: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3394222/David-Cameron-makes-extraordinary-plea-ministers-remember-run-country-fight-bitter-battle-Britain-s-EU-membership-summer.html

Do you have any information about this as it's quite worrying that this could happen without us knowing about it?

Give me a few minutes, I believe its rolled out in 4 or 5 major cities with a view for it to go national soon! Not a new story!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/2957428/Sharia-law-courts-operating-in-Britain.html

Five sharia courts have been set up in London, Birmingham, Bradford and Manchester and Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The government has quietly sanctioned that their rulings are enforceable with the full power of the judicial system, through the county courts or High Court. Previously, the rulings were not binding and depended on voluntary compliance among Muslims.

Lawyers have issued grave warnings about the dangers of a dual legal system and the disclosure drew criticism from Opposition leaders.

Dominic Grieve, the shadow home secretary, said: "If it is true that these tribunals are passing binding decisions in the areas of family and criminal law, I would like to know which courts are enforcing them because I would consider such action unlawful. British law is absolute and must remain so."

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1196165/Britain-85-sharia-courts-The-astonishing-spread-Islamic-justice-closed-doors.html

At least 85 Islamic sharia courts are operating in Britain, a study claimed yesterday.

The astonishing figure is 17 times higher than previously accepted.

The tribunals, working mainly from mosques, settle financial and family disputes according to religious principles. They lay down judgments which can be given full legal status if approved in national law courts.

The Muslim Arbitration Tribunal is a form of alternative dispute resolution which operates under the Arbitration Act 1996 which is available in the United Kingdom. It is one of two services (Islamic Sharia Council is the other) for Muslims who wish to resolve disputes without recourse to the courts system.[2] According to Machteld Zee, the MAT differs from other Sharia councils in that their ‘core business’ is arbitrating commercial disputes under the Arbitration Act 1996.[3]

The tribunals were set up by lawyer Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi and operate in London, Bradford, Manchester, Birmingham and Nuneaton. Two more are planned for Glasgow and Edinburgh.[4] Rulings can be enforced in both the County Courts and the High Court.[2] The media have described a system of Islamic Sharia courts which have the power to rule in civil cases.[4] As of 2008, the courts had dealt with around 100 cases dealing with issues such as inheritance and nuisance neighbours.

* My reference to Cameron doing this is from word of mouth, but looking at these dates I'm personally not so sure if it was him or the previous Labour Government...?

Lines, arbitration is available to anyone, based on any rules, as long as both parties agree. If a couple of God botherers want to follow the rules from their book who the hell cares?

Obviously me!

There's many stories of women being forced to use these courts instead of the countries real ones.

e.g.

But there have been accounts of this on Look North at times, Channel 4 / BBC documentaries, etc.

Is it ok if they are forced to by their over religious community?

No, and if compulsion is proven then the verdict of the arbitration is rendered void. The treatment of woman within islam is a separate issue to the one we are discussing.

Not if its used in these cases, which many "victims" claim.

I believe Look North visited a shelter set up for Muslim women in Leeds who had run away from such persecution.

I'm confused - is ontopic here 'sharia courts' or 'collective responsibility and brexit'?

Yes, its been derailed somewhat...

Back to hypocritical Cameron whose so scared of a defeat that he's put a one way gagging order on those who disagree with him, and to think that this used to be a democratic and fair country. What has happened, oh yeah, we're no longer a sovereign country but rather just an insignificant part of the EU who sticks to the rules, unlike all the other major countries, ahem, Germany, France, etc...
