Acer Aspire tablet/keyboard, running Win 8.1

I thought I had AVG installed.

On startup, I try to access AVG site through IE, or through Firefox.

It will no access either site

Accessing Malwarebytes gives me their initial screen, and then overidden with advertisements..

On a desktop, I would change the boot order, and then boot from a "rescue disk" either CD or USB, with an antivirus included.

There is no CD drive, and I can't see how to get an antiviru program on a USB.

Sorry, can't afford airfare to Sheffield just now!

Do you have access to another PC?

As you could use this;

AVG Rescue CD Guide http://free.avg.com/gb-en/226162

Or this

How to create a Bitdefender Rescue CD http://www.bitdefender.com/support/how-to-create-a-bitdefender-rescue-cd-627.html

And this

Booting Avira Rescue System from a USB Stick https://www.avira.com/en/support-for-home-knowledgebase-detail/kbid/655

Or if you can install Avast you can create a USB stick from within the program.

If you get stuck let me know and I will PM you links to avg/avast installers on my company's support website.
