angepower   10 #1 Posted January 1, 2016 Searched for threads on this but not turned up anything...  We recently moved to Crosspool at the bottom of Watt Lane bordering Ranmoor. A few walks around the local area and can't helping gawping at a slightly (very) audacious and bling local house on Ivy Park Rd called Manor House. As I walked by and stared, a bit stunned by the enthusiastic Christmas decorations, I asked my other passers by staring in the gates who lived there and was told a local Mr Hogg? Name didn't mean much to me and wondered if anyone could fill me in on some local history/knowledge of this house and the owners? Morts   17 #2 Posted January 2, 2016 I lived just round the corner from where you are now...on Tetney Road. Moved there in 1959. The houses were built by Knowles Bros who lived directly behind us in a large blue brick house.. I knew a lot of the houses on Ivy Park Road from a paper round, it had some famous people living there. Whereabouts is Manor House? Eater Sundae   12 #4 Posted January 3, 2016 (edited) It was a much smaller (and "ordinary") house, heavily extended a few years ago (maybe 10 or 15 years ago, I lose track of time). There used to be a few "HOG" related personalised number plates on the cars. Not been past / noticed them for a while.  I've regularly seen the cars at Towsure, also, so there may be a link. Eric Arthur   10 #5 Posted January 3, 2016 The house has no history. It was built in the late 90's by a local gents outfitter. There is no manor that it was the house of.
 Share this content via...
