Germany is because they have others do the fighting (for obvious hustorical reasons) and Switzerland is both armed to the teeth and completely amoral regarding who can hide cash so has not faced attack.

I would rather us to be armed to the teeth waiting for the imaginary bogeyman than taking on real psychotic fanatics 3,000 miles away, costing hundred of young lives.

Sadly as we saw in paris these islamist loons can move from syria to our homelands with ease. The days of the front line being something we can walk away from are over, we need to be willing and able to hit them whereever they are. And corbyn clearly has no intention of hitting them anywhere.

Actually he did. He said if the UK came under nuclear attack he wouldn't retaliate. By saying that he increased the risk that someone would take the risk free option of attacking us. But we would only face that danger if the country were stupid enough to put him in charge.

We are never going to be attacked with nukes. The threat is completely imaginary.

But........if we did then you can console yourself with your four minutes of thinking 'yeah we showed em' before getting yourself irradiated, burned to a crisp or torn to shreds by the blast wave.

Peace is the way. Not hate. Not war.

And even then you have more chance dying from doing basic DIY tasks at home.

Nothing like a bit of hysteria......

Chill, it's Christmas :)

The relatively low body count is because we throw a load of resource at stopping the ********. If corbyn and his fans had their way the islamists would have a field day.

Policy, not police.

Take some time to educate yourself about the German and Swiss military approach and let us know what you think about it once you've found out. :) You might also have a think about the Nazi gold still in Swiss banks. That's the gold ripped from the fingers and mouths of millions of murdered Jewish holocaust victims. That single thing still defines German and Swiss military policy, not being peaceniks.

It just shows you how silly your assumptions can be then.

Conscription has no place in a modern free and progressive nation. That's why socialists the world over love it because indoctrinates the plebs with bit of discipline and loyalty to the national socialist cause.

Whereas capitalists hate it because it teaches the proles how to fight and use weapons, and defend themselves against tyrants...

"Donkey" you may be "Propagandised" yourself if you think the UK is an agressive, warlike nation. Go back to the Romans, the Normans, the Spanish, the Dutch, the French and the Germans to see a list of countries who tried to invade the country and attacked. The UK has a military like it does to protect against this and to protect its people, overseas trade and interests.

If the UK did not have that over the centuries, you might not be so fluent in the English language!

You are right, I wouldn't, I'd be speaking the native Gaelic of my ancestors, so thanks for emphasising the point.

With their strategic nuclear weapons they don't or won't ever possess?

The bogeyman isn't real either so stop being irrational.

Nobodies talking about the bogeyman, we are talking about islamists who are jolly keen on killing us. You can pretend they don't exist if you like but then you are not charged with defending against them.

Would that be the Islamists that America created when they funded Bin Laden's Mujahadeen in Afghanistan, or the ones we created by invading Iraq, or is it the ones which are growing in strength in Libya, thanks to our military intervention there? So what is the proposed solution? Get involved in another Arab war because fourth time lucky?? Absolute genius.

The French had been bombing the Islamists for months, it didnt seem to have done them any good, did it? perhaps it made it worse, because when the people from Brussels (ooops, they had been bombing the wrong ones) who started killing the French, said "This is for Syria"....complicated eh? but as long as we are bombing some one and seem to be doing something, thats all that matters
