What worries me are the 29% that would trust him with it :D

Actually he did. He said if the UK came under nuclear attack he wouldn't retaliate. By saying that he increased the risk that someone would take the risk free option of attacking us. But we would only face that danger if the country were stupid enough to put him in charge.

We only face danger of invasion or attack because of the current Tory government and the Labour party of Tony Blair. Between them they have killed 100s of 1000s of innocent people and Cameron is seemingly set to kill a load more in Syria, Iraq and probably eventually Iran plus anyone else they feel are a 'threat'.

Corbyn for all his faults would not pee on my leg and tell me its raining. He also would not go and invade a country for its resources and tell us its because they are terrorists.

I think everyone is against war, but that isn't the same as doing nothing when your enemies are attacking you.

I'm pretty sure that they aren't.

Very true

I think you'll find that it's those on the far left that choose to hate people

............. Katie Hopkins for example :hihi:

I'd certainly be classed as right wing but I don't hate Corbyn or anyone else who stands for the opposite end of the political spectrum, for me I'm happier that he is in charge rather than any other of their cronies as he at least represents opposite views and ideas.

People in England are propagandised to an alarming degree, having been brought up with the Orwellian doublespeak of calling agression 'defence' and militarism 'security.' consequently, most people are in denial that the Uk is an agressive and warlike countr4y, both historically and in the present day.

If not then how come there are so many other countries in the developed world that have managed to stay much more secure than we are without getting involved in endless military expeditions?

Corbyn is painted as an extremist on defence, but a quick look around Europe shows his approach is quite normal when compared with the policies of most other countries.

Why cant the right wingers be happy that he's become Labour leader because he's unelectable and will gift hem the next election as well as ridiculing his unlectability, whilst he is still leader? Surely that's what Eric is doing, just rubbing it in?

I think it is a little more complicated than that.

Most of the electorate think Corbyn will lead Labour to electoral defeat. However most Labour MPs also think he will lead them to electoral deafeat as well. I imagine the Tories like to keep reminding them of this as they hope by the next election Corbyn will have split the Labour Party in half creating damage that will see them out of office for a generation.

So the irony of it is that the far left are the Tories greatest allies.

Don't know anything about assault rifles and military police

Policy, not police.

Take some time to educate yourself about the German and Swiss military approach and let us know what you think about it once you've found out. :) You might also have a think about the Nazi gold still in Swiss banks. That's the gold ripped from the fingers and mouths of millions of murdered Jewish holocaust victims. That single thing still defines German and Swiss military policy, not being peaceniks.

I would have thought you would support National Service, Eric.

It just shows you how silly your assumptions can be then.

Conscription has no place in a modern free and progressive nation. That's why socialists the world over love it because indoctrinates the plebs with bit of discipline and loyalty to the national socialist cause.

Odd, because we have a prime minister a few years ago who lied to parliament in order to get his way and launch us into a war.

And now we have one who's again launched military action, this time when the country is apparently broke and we can't afford to build proper flood defences, but we can afford £50 million a day in bombs and missiles.

"Donkey" you may be "Propagandised" yourself if you think the UK is an agressive, warlike nation. Go back to the Romans, the Normans, the Spanish, the Dutch, the French and the Germans to see a list of countries who tried to invade the country and attacked. The UK has a military like it does to protect against this and to protect its people, overseas trade and interests.

If the UK did not have that over the centuries, you might not be so fluent in the English language!

No. Sorry he's more a figure of ridicule than hate.

But it is a dilemma nonetheless. I too tend to fall in the right of centre category on many things.

Where did you get the £50m a day figure from?

You seem to be under the impression that wars cost us money. Quite the contrary, they are a gold mine
