Jeffrey Shaw   90 #3 Posted December 29, 2015 Can't they bloomin' stop messing about with our buses? Is the aim just to baffle everyone so much that no-one will know where/when services run?
 Share this content via...
dutch   68 #4 Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) I once saw a house in Sheffield where the 15 mm gas pipe had been increased to 22mm. But they only increased it in visible places with easy access, in all hidden cavities it stayed 15 mm. End result, you are worse off than before and the big show only makes matters worse.  Why do I have the feeling we are dealing with similar fiddlers here who are not increasing real service and instead are flapping round adjusting numbers on the paperwork. smh2004 Â Â 10 #5 Posted December 30, 2015 Â There are also price increases from 2nd January to Travelmaster tickets that include train travel. Â How much are these going up to? Funky_Gibbon   42 #6 Posted December 30, 2015 Why do I have the feeling we are dealing with similar fiddlers here who are not increasing real service and instead are flapping round adjusting numbers on the paperwork.  Because that's exactly what they're doing.  My service, the 35, became an hourly service in November because of a cretinous decision not to run half of the buses from Sheffield to Meadowhall. In reality it became a 2 hour service because it would go missing so frequently around rush hour that it's a novelty when it turns up.  The January 'solution' to this appears to be to increase the scheduled time between services to 1 hour 10 minutes, factoring in the delay and crossing fingers, rather than doing a simple thing like letting the bus with its terminus at Sandstone Road instead go to Meadowhall before heading back to town. Even with Christmas traffic around Meadowhall that would cut the waiting time by a minimum of 20-25 minutes without having to run a single extra bus. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place  http://www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/kyi_TMPricesJan2016/  It is only the train inclusive tickets that are going up to reflect the annual price review on the National Rail Network.  The Bus only and bus & tram products (Citywide, Connect etc) are unchanged.  ---------- Post added 30-12-2015 at 12:02 ----------  Because that's exactly what they're doing.  My service, the 35, became an hourly service in November because of a cretinous decision not to run half of the buses from Sheffield to Meadowhall. northernboy   13 #8 Posted December 30, 2015 I still wish they would sort out the real-time tracker, just had a look for my stops and it still only works on half the scheduled services.
 Share this content via...

Then it would have been sorted a lot better instead of getting two busses back to back after waiting two hours now.  ---------- Post added 30-12-2015 at 12:53 ----------  If a bus is supposed to come once every hour two are needed to make that a reality. Fudbeer   12 #11 Posted December 31, 2015 The 85/86 situation continues to develop.  While the 86 seems to track more regularly and are well used most 85's dont seem to track run late and are often empty at Hutcliffe wood.  They also appear to have the oldest buses of First's fleet!
