gazza c   10 #5 Posted December 26, 2015 some retailers are having boxing day 26th as bank hol as they would normally open saturdays anyway and their staff work. so monday is just a normal day for some. only reason govt has moved it is so that the masses who normally work on a monday dont lose out on a bank holiday day. Dannyno   19 #6 Posted December 26, 2015 As the government explain:  If a bank holiday is on a weekend, a ‘substitute’ weekday becomes a bank holiday, normally the following Monday. Your employer doesn’t have to give you paid leave on bank or public holidays.  https://www.gov.uk/bank-holidays
 Share this content via...

Penistone999 Â Â 10 #9 Posted December 26, 2015 So on the day when tens of thousands of people head to the sales , SCC cant even offer free parking to attract people to spend their money in the city centre . Pathetic. No wonder the city centre is dying on its feet. Â Still, their loss of income is Meadowhalls gain.
 Share this content via...

This always happens when Christmas day or Boxinng Day falls over a weekend. The Bank Holiday is designated by the Goverment not by the council. Â They could quite easily offer free parking today if they wanted, and couldnt have trotted out their usual excuse of all the free parking been taking up by office workers. Â the bank holiday excuse dosnt wash.
 Share this content via...
