Jeffrey Shaw   90 #73 Posted December 7, 2015 Sheffield is the 4th largest city in England behind London, Birmingham & Manchester No- behind London, Birmingham & Leeds. Manchester City Council's population is much smaller. 'Bigger' means in population size, not area. Come to that, the City of London is tiny- on both counts. Leeds Loiner   10 #76 Posted December 9, 2015 sorry, but your first one is wrong... Most definitely a scandiwegian enterprise. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arla_Foods  Parts of it yes Lurpak etc. but they are very merger/takeover astute. So astute in fact they realised that Leeds was the place to be for their UK HQ.  http://www.arlafoods.co.uk/about-us/company/arla-in-the-uk/
 Share this content via...

myriad   10 #78 Posted December 10, 2015 (edited) Isn't that only because the definition/border of Manchester city is fairly small. Whereas really it's a huge sprawling place thats grown into other villages/towns in the surrounding area.  Correct. For a discussion like this to have any meaningful context Manchester should be considered as the area governed by Manchester City Council which is far bigger than Leeds in area, population and economic terms. Leeds Loiner   10 #81 Posted December 10, 2015 Do they come in a box with a tube of glue?  I'm not sure what to think about that, its either you have no internet, can't read or are just plain disrespectful of people who helped win the 2nd World War some of whom are still alive. It wasn't you who peed on the War Memorial down there was it?
 Share this content via...
