Cubase pro's/cons

Is it worth the money and is it easy enough for a complete novice to use?

...and can you plug a guitar straight into a computer?

Sorry for being ultra thick but you've got to start somewhere lol

It's worth the money, but there are lower cost alternatives that essentially do the same thing, such as REAPER. Also, ProTools is now free for its limited version.

All DAW's require a steep learning curve if you've never used one before, just pick something, go for it, and keep going for it.

Yes, you can plug a guitar straight into a computer with the right lead, but it'll sound pretty crap. There are lots of outboard interfaces with guitar-level inputs on the front these days.

The DAW you pick is a matter of choice. The audio interface is important so as to avoid the drraded latency. The Boss BR80 is exceptional as an interface, no latency.

i would recommend Reaper by Cockos everytime..there is a free version that you can use ad infinitum or for a small sum £30 or something you can have constant updates and add ons..it's as powerful as anything out there. easy enough to use for a novice but perfect for the professional too. it is user friendly and can e bcustomised in any way you could possibly wish or imagine.

it still baffles me why folk are paying hundreds of pounds for DAW software when this is the equal to anything that's out there and in my opinion it's the best of the lot.

Cheers guys, never heard of Reaper (but have been out of the game for a while), certainly sounds like the best option.

Really appreciate your input.
