BMW's and Golfs (I think) are notorious for this.

There's a blind spot in the alarm system, so crafty thieves can break in without setting it off.

Once in they can access the OBD port and code a new key to the vehicle.

The last generation of BMW's were susceptible to this type of theft, appeared on a Watchdog episode if I recall correctly. The current generation is OK as far as I know.

Car security companies sell 'OBD locks' to prevent access to the port.

I said they had to break in first, most car alarms would go off

Oh and BTW putting it on open forums will give some scroats ideas

They do, through a blindspot in the cars alarm system.

Get in the car without setting off the alarm.

Don't worry about giving people ideas, it's been all over the news and on various TV shows like Watchdog and such - basically common knowledge.
