NHS dentists taking on new patients?

Looked on the nhs website but many arent taking on.

 

My partner and i are also very VERY nervous patients and havent yet found anywhere that doesnt scare the hell out of us, or even actually nice and patient dentists that actually try to ease us...

 

Anyone have any ideas or recommendations?

I don't know if they are taking new patients on, but Sandygate Dental are great. I am terribly nervous with dentists and the dentist always spends time talking me through the procedure and has had a session with me just discussing my fear and what causes it so he can try to minimise it. I've had to have root canal recently and whilst horrible, I survived it and had no pain at all. Their reception staff are also great, but they do seem to have long wait times for appointments now which is a shame.

are you in any health care plan like westfield I had a nhs dentist for years but now I go private and havnt looked back . no waiting no kids no pensioners !! my west field covers all the costs and before I never used full limit

I too would recommend getting a health plan via Westfield or similar and going private.

 

It's a night and day difference in service.
