darylslinn   10 #13 Posted November 2, 2015 I can't see any houses on Granville Road with doors front doors side by side with that depth of frontage or anything with such ornate doorways either.
 Share this content via...
Sweetcheeks   15 #14 Posted November 2, 2015 The picture looks suspiciously like Conduit Road. Check out the ecclesiastical doorways.
 Share this content via...
green_man   10 #15 Posted November 3, 2015 (edited) The picture looks suspiciously like Conduit Road. Check out the ecclesiastical doorways.  That is a cracking call and it led me to go one step further in an attempt to track down the exact house on google streetview. I think you are right and I reckon the postcard is no.52 Conduit road, which is this one.  https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.3837242,-1.5006089,3a,75y,13.17h,91.38t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1supBUnDhOaw2eAu62VXvkWA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 (52 being the white doored house in the middle of this link with the sky dish and yellow alarm box)  At the minute my guess is still slightly vague however I am trying to spot slight features in both properties to confirm it and I think I have found a few.  In fact looking at it now I have examined features in the brick work and I have picked up four obvious similarities which in my opinion pretty much nail it on as the same house, so yes I am going for No.52. Pretty much certain of it.  These are the similarities.  http://s23.postimg.org/4gnkb7r7f/brick.jpg Edited November 3, 2015 by green_man
 Share this content via...

I've checked on the Streetview link and that's a direct hit, I reckon.  Mystery: SOLVED. Case: CLOSED!  Thanks to all on this one.  John.  ---------- Post added 03-11-2015 at 20:08 ----------  *Case Closed*  http://www.meersbrook.co.uk/52%20Conduit%20Road%20Sheffield.jpg  Cheers again.  Reckon I might have a few more "mystery" street cards... watch this space!  John.
