northernboy   13 #97 Posted January 5, 2017 The Star posted an article on tbeir Facebook page yesterday about "which local MP would you most like to have sex with?"  The link didn't work, it just took you to their home page. Click bait or **** up? (No pun intended)
 Share this content via...
Beligerence   10 #98 Posted January 5, 2017 I thought chapletown was s35?  More than one village can have the same postcode sector....  ---------- Post added 05-01-2017 at 08:03 ----------  IT does have a Sheffield post code. S 35 I think.  And so does Worksop, and that isnt part of Yorkshire, let alone Sheffield, so your point is moot.
 Share this content via...
Jeffrey Shaw   90 #99 Posted January 5, 2017 IT does have a Sheffield post code. S 35 I think. Hope Valley is the post town. But, no- not S35! Its postcodes are in fact: S32 for Calver, Edale, Eyam, Grindleford, Hathersage, and Stoney Middleton; and S33 for Bamford, Bradwell, Castleton, and Hope. InigoMontoya   10 #100 Posted March 16, 2017 That paper gets worse.  Despite now being a morning paper, shows tomorrow's racing.  The full card from the evening meeting at Wolverhampton.  And only the 3.30 at Cheltenham.
 Share this content via...

Guest makapaka   #102 Posted March 16, 2017 There's been a massive improvement in the star under the latest editor.  It's not perfect but is vastly improved. It should be encouraged.  ---------- Post added 16-03-2017 at 19:22 ----------  Most of the stories are scraped Off online social media and forums. DerbyTup   10 #103 Posted March 16, 2017 Bad news fellow forum members, The Star will rise in price by 5p from Monday to 70p. Are daily papers (either local or national) even worth half this price these days ?  It's not bad news for anyone with a computer - which presumably most of you have?  It's free online.  And it's such a load of rubbish unprofessional journalism anyway - why get concerned about it? lazarus   68 #107 Posted April 4, 2017 St Patrick's day has been and gone and not one word or photo of the day was printed, the tent in Fargate was full to bursting, the Lord Mayor held a bit of a do for the Irish community in the Town Hall but it seems Nancy Fielder just doesn't care. Every major town and city in Britain celebrated this day and was reported in all local papers. The Star is now just a joke, it's more interested in gaining advertising revenue than reporting proper news, there are very few mature reporters as they have been replaced by kids who don't come from Sheffield and don't know anything about the city.
