The Sheffield Star Newspaper (paper version)

Recommended Posts

They did get a new editor, Nancy Felder (I think), recently so she may have been cracking some heads. Not bought it for years.

I don't like the website either.

The print edition has definitely improved for me though. Perhaps it is the new editor that's made the difference.

Some good features added it's definitely a better read - I agree for a time it was really poor and not worth buying but I've started getting it more now.

the worst local paper in the uk and biased, full of non news and past head lines why revisit the past but lets not forget save our owls , garbage rag

Have you bought it recently?

Letters page unchanged, still great, most entertaining part of the paper.

It beats me where they find the ranters and deranged on a daily basis.

Currently putting Viz to shame.

Their ads have redirected me to porn/virus sites when I accidently clicked them using my phone.

They also have a habit of publishing pointless articles. Eg:

"Police Incident...

Police incident on Blah-Blah Road.

More news to follow."

I had a moan about the food reviews and similar to her on Twitter and, fair do`s, she replied straight away and didn`t dismiss my concerns.

And agree, sports coverage is excellent!

I think the best thing I have seen in the Star recently was fish and chips.

if I access about 3 different stories, my PC sometimes goes so slow it's hard to cancel the page. Most newspaper websites are similar.
