Heeley Bank School

Does anyone know what is happening with Heeley Bank School? I noticed today there is scaffolding up and lots of rubbish being cleared away. It would be lovely to see it put to good use again, perhaps something along the lines of what Anns Rd School has done.

Last I heard it was going to be an all muslim school.

 

Don't know if this is still the case.

The Council have changed their tune nicely there from this description!

 

"The site is located in a residential area where Housing uses are preferred, however small shops, offices used by the public, food and drink outlets, hotels, business and residential institutions may be acceptable provided living conditions of existing residents are not adversely affected and other planning requirements are met. Any development proposals would require Planning permission and prospective purchasers are advised to make their own enquiries regarding any specific use"

I doubt that, the shopping area at the bottom of Heeley Green is nearer.

Oh well, at least it will be better than it just going to rack and ruin. The students will have to be fit though to walk up that hill every day, its a killer, or is it just because i'm getting old?

Confirmed: on way past on Sunday I asked one of the workers. They are only working on the top part of the school and that is going to be a Nursery. I presume for muslim children - all muslim working on the site.
