Ah good old First....

Well hopefully the bloke will get his moneys worth and have a ride on the tram!

The 85 still exists in a revised form: High Green-Hillsborough-City-Abbeydale Road-Hutcliffe Wood-Chancet Wood

I would suggest for a lot of people it will be worth upgrading their ticket choice to Citybus or Citywide - it may cost that little bit extra but gives the freedom to get on any service rather than having to wait for a specific operator. It also allows for journeys where making connections may be faster than a through service.

Check the network map at http://www.sheffieldbuspartnership.co.uk then the timetables at http://www.travelsouthyorkshire.com.

Those travelling to Wisewood and Loxley may be a good example - getting the tram to Hillsborough and changing onto a bus there may be a better journey than sitting on the 31 or 52a via Walkley or Crookes. Also the TM Travel 61/62 from Bradfield has been extended to run into the City Centre via the direct route from Hillsborough Mon-Sat daytime. Wisewood also has the S6 that shuttles to Hillsborough Interchange every 20 minutes connecting with other buses and trams.

Not impressed so far, waited 20 minutes for a bus home and 2 that were scheduled haven't appeared. Asked the man in the interchange what happened to the previous one, he just shrugged. Literally just bought a citywide month ticket as well :(

We travelled from Deepcar to Ecclesfield today and what a trial it turned out to be

We were told by a 97 driver that the 85 didn't stop on leppings lane despite the new time table on show

We then asked if the 85 went to Ecclesfield, the information leaflet said it did. The 85 driver told us we needed to hop on the next 20/20a from leppings lane, we told him the 20/20a didn't stop there any more. Surely he should know this

We then jumped on a 97, the driver told us to change to the 20 and then onto another bus to ecclesfield. We had to change our plans and ended up on another bus to the Devonshire Arms to be picked up by my mother

We noticed so many buses displaying destinations such as Fullwood and Crystal Peaks. That must be one hell of a journey from Southey

The bus drivers had no idea where they were going and had other First employees riding with them guiding them through the route

No doubt we will get used to the new services in time but what a shambles, people were hopping on and off buses hopelessly lost

Chaos is the only word to describe it.

The new timetables displayed at the stops are very confusing re the times, I could not work out when my next bus was due at one of the Flat Street stops.

The number 10 TM travel bus should be at Arundel Gate at 1720 hrs according to the website timetable. However at the bus stop it states 16 mins past the hour. When I got to the stop tonight it wasn't on the electronic board and I am now unsure what time it is supposed to be there thanks to the conflict of information.

So far I am not impressed with the changes!

can everybody that gets on a bus asking about new routes then moan about buses being late....think on ....for every passenger that does the same as you 2 or 3 minutes are added on to journey times making the bus later n later for other passengers....chill out dont get stressed..you,ll give yourselves a heart attack...give it a few days to settle and it will be ok

That happened to me the other day,I ended up missing my second bus,and waiting around 50 chuffing minutes in the bus station for the next bus,all because of the long winded conversations about changes:rolleyes:

I know its polite to make conversation at times, but in this instance, get your info, and move on! :hihi:

My journey to work was fine this morning, the train and tram were both on time....

Returning home by bus the Stagecoach 25 and the Stagecoach 43 in front of it both ran fine. Noted the electronic departure screen on the stop at Arundel Gate had crashed and been frozen since 11am though. I also discovered the Travel South Yorkshire website had crashed this morning. That always seems to happen when lots of people want bus information...

I gathered from other passengers on my bus the First 24 hadn't been performing quite so well though. Also noted all the First buses to Lowedges, Batemoor and Totley had been downgraded to single deckers and were rather full!

Sheffield Community Transport seemed to be suffering some delays, TM Travel looked like they were doing fine and saw some of their brand new buses out on route 6.

Over on Twitter the person running the First South Yorkshire account looked like they were about to have a nervous breakdown, Stagecoach and TSY appeared a little more professional and helpful!

Suggest the Citybus and Citywide tickets are probably best value, offering use of any bus regardless of operator (and tram in the case of Citywide).

This is the current timetable for the 10/10a operated by Sheffield Community Transport http://www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/timetables/sheffield/12.htm

runs at xx:16 until about 3pm then xx:20 until the last one at 18:20

If the electronic screen on your stop was the same as the stop I travelled from tonight, it had probably crashed and frozen several hours ago.
