er what leaflet? im on the effected 1/1a route and heard nothing except the sign at the bus stop, the buses do not have the timetable or new routes on them to pick up, the mini interchange on arundle gate has withdrawn every single bus timetable leaflet when i called in last week and the woman at the counter did not know when they would be printed, or if the new service is a shared one with cross over tickets, all i got was look online, poor effort

i agree i live on the 1a bus route extremley poor about telling people

Yes and people on this forum have no excuse for not knowing about it!

I imagine there will be fun and games Monday morning though as a lot of people haven't really registered what the changes are, some know but are confused etc etc.

Probably a good day to commute by tram or train...

My suggestion is treat it like all the old buses are gone and you are starting from scratch - look at the route map to see what buses (or trams) are best for you then look at the appropriate timetables. All are available at http://www.travelsouthyorkshire.com. Then look for the best ticket to buy - if you only need one operator check their website, if you need the flexibility of any operator then check http://www.sytravelmaster.com.

what was the actual; point in causing this uproar

There are three journeys I used to make that I cannot make with one bus anymore that have been available for more than 18 years now.

Why change it all any ways, just to confuse people, the only thing people want are buses to turn up on time, which a lot don't,and maybe some less grumpy drivers, hardly ever smile!

Any idea where the 51 stop that was next to the Crucible has gone?? (The one between Matilda St/Eyre St and the Cathedral)

Our Bus Driver couldn't find it yesterday, and I'm having trouble seeing it on the new map:

It stops at AG11, the last stop behind the Lyceum.

I have to say the number 51 on that map looks like it has been written on in biro afterwards!

Thank you SYPTE, I'm walking to work for the next month and putting my bus fare money towards buying a car.

Slightly off topic but would be slightly less annoyed if only people would stop putting their feet up on seats that face backwards.. so selfish.

We had a leaflet that covered 'South East Sheffield' but made no mention to the buses that cover our area (Darnall). Seems a waste of money to me.

I don't think there are any changes to the 52, but I'm not looking forward to the snow season as you will get loads of people who don't usually use a bus, totally confused!!

Sounds like the company that were paid to distribute the information booklets have messed up in some areas - or SYPTE specified the postcodes wrong. It seems Nether Edge residents also got the wrong version.

The 52 has a new timetable and journeys operated by First are now 52a.

In other Darnall news the TM Travel 6 is now extended beyond the City Centre via Hallamshire Hospital to Millhouses and the 38 is replaced by the 18/18a.

If you use buses other than the 52 you may also be interested in the new Citybus tickets, valid on any bus in Sheffield regardless of operator.

If you travel from Hillsborough to town and you don't like the buses, how about the tram? Runs every 5-10 minutes, weekly ticket £12.50, monthly ticket £42.

Or the Citywide ticket gets you on any bus or tram in Sheffield, regardless of operator, now cheaper than before at £15 a week or £53 for 4 weeks.

Probably better on a train when it snows.

Now being a 'Wrinkly' am personally greatly inconvenienced by all the service changes. However, my sympathy goes out to more to all the bus users who rely on them to get to work. Well done (NOT!) to the decision makers! Am truly disgusted & annoyed!

Any particular reason to back up that statement or do you just not like change?

I looked at the leaflet that landed on my doormat t'other day and am sorry to say that the bus that is replacing the 19 from chancet wood to town is now going down hutcliffe summat road towards abbeydale................... most of the more mature residents on chancet wood relied upon the 19 to take them down into woodseats. Now they will have to change onto the 76 before they even get onto abbey lane if they want to shop on woodseats. Reliably informed the this route change was requested by the bus drivers as they didn't like driving through woodseats !!!! Erm is it just me that thinks this a diabolical liberty ???? Surely the bus should be for passengers to get where they want to go rather than where the driver wants to drive ?????
