There were definitely fireworks a few minutes ago. One of the cats came in looking terrified, so that's usually a sign.

I don't think it was fireworks. It was more like two large vehicles hitting each other at speed, repeatedly, or some large structure being demolished.

 

Heard that much later - around midnight. Heard it a few times recently and presumed it was an accident on Penistone Rd at first. Now it's more regular. Def not fireworks.

Steelworks? some nights we can hear a dull thumping from far away for most of the night to, I always wonder if its the steel works (I'm at Shiregreen) perhaps its when the wind blows in a certain direction.

 

Re fireworks, I think it would be a shame to stop people having their own, but for goodness sake do we really need fireworks so loud? whatever happened to the pretty and quiet fireworks that we used to have as kids? ban the bangers and bombs!!!!

I heard it last night when I couldn't sleep. At first I thought fireworks too but when I listened properly it sounded like when a crane/ truck drops stuff into a skip etc. Definitely metal on metal. Went on till early this am:(
