Wondering if anyone one could give me any idea what it will cost from s8 to Manchester airport and which company is the best. Thanks

Network taxi's are your local taxi Co. Expect £60-£65 each way.

 

You may have to pay for the return up front. I recently caught the train in the evening to Manchester Airport and stayed at the local Premier Inn for a good nights sleep. £4 taxi fare into the airport for a 10am flight. Saves all that lack of sleep and the risk of getting stuck on the M60 in the rush hour.

 

Got Excell to bring me back at 8am but I had to pay up front which is understandable. No fun for a taxi driver going to Manchester and having a no pick up.

People ask for help on here that's one of the things this site is for. Also people give recommendations for company's they have used. Once I have the recommendations I will phone those company's. Hope that answers your questions as to why I ask on here and not go to Google.

The cheapest is not always the best. I'd recommend you contact three or four companies for a quote and go for the one that inspires the most confidence. Please ensure they're licensed by Sheffield City Council for your own safety. Also it would be better for you deal with a company that specialise in Airport Travel instead of just a standard private hire company. They'll have the experience and knowledge to ensure you have a pleasant start and finish to your holiday

No fun for the passenger either when they have paid up front.

Some years ago we were left stranded by Excel at Robin Hood airport at 3 0'clock in the morning in pouring rain and we had paid up front but no one had made a note of it. Not to worry said the female on the phone it will only take 10 minutes to get you our taxi there from Sheffield, sure, an hour later one arrived. Just not good enough.

On the same subject Excel taxis, how can a same length of journey which I do often cost between £8-50p to £11-50p? I think they just say what ever comes into their head at the time or someone's on the fiddle.
