This year I found myself buying several little synths called Volcas, and started putting ideas down with my loop pedal. So they are not 'tracks' or songs, there's no possibility to mix or produce, but i like the immediacy of it.

If anyone wants to develop something similar let me know.

The Spirals.... Vocalist not my cup of tea if I'm honest (although I'm not his target audience), sounds like he was having a vasectomy whilst performing. Although I would like to hear more to be sure.

.

Oof...I admit his singing style's perhaps a bit specialist (not a bad thing with all the Arctic Monkeys soundalikes around IMO) - but still, that's harsh...we're playing an acoustic set at Maida Vale on thursday, why don't you come along and check us out properly?

for what it's worth, i took a listen and i thought the vocals were individual and real distinctive and well executed; just what you'd want in a band.

i guess you can't please all the people all of the time

If by 'specialist' you mean having character I would agree - and no disrespect to the other members but I think his vocals on 'I Gotta Go' are the strongest element of that track - there's a PJ Proby vibe going on there !

Yeah that's what I meant...his voice is great (NOT the kind you'd usually find in an indie/rock band at all...but it works). PJ Proby...interesting, don't think we've ever had that comparison before - I can hear where your coming from though (might be the production style...)

The interpretation of music, as with all art forms, is subjective. The opinion I gave was purely my own and in retrospect, I shouldn't have been so personal. In the grand scheme of things though, an individual's opinion is worthless, because if more people appreciate the performance than don't, then the interpretation is validated.

Good God, reading that back I sound like a pretentious di@k, but you get my drift.:)

The musos sound great by the way.

Yeah it's good - I think it's the character and similar vibrato that PJ Proby had on songs such as 'I apologise' (1965).

Addylewis no one can make music everyone likes. Don't trouble yourself over criticism over voice. Voices are veeeery subjective so there will always be people who dislike any voice.

Anything that stands out is going to polarize to some degree.
