Gricehead   10 #16 Posted October 10, 2015 It's being widely reported that this is coming from M Hewitts Byproducts at Norwood Cottage Farm, Killamarsh. They've had recent visits from Environmental Health, and have had a number of improvement actions given.  (poor focus image - https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/10013698_10153343158088392_3052634894600945407_n.jpg?oh=52f4b6e9c246e07e8671938c19a4b101&oe=569564B9)  (better quality reproduction - different letter, same text - https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/11219673_10207715427866438_1368553205992909496_n.jpg?oh=477413047181d01e05be9db64f40131b&oe=56D1A5AC&__gda__=1452174185_b4429ebd5ee511f1aed24ff81ec56e27)  This is being dealt with by North East Derbyshire Council.  Interestingly, M Hewitts also have a planning request lodged for a bigger sewage storage facility: http://planapps-online.ne-derbyshire.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=makeComment&keyVal=NV6M8LLI06400  If you're interested, you can find more details on the Killamarsh Voice facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/162215203973390/?fref=ts
 Share this content via...
Starlc   11 #17 Posted October 10, 2015 In woodhouse yesterday, there was an overwhelming smell like boiling onions, I put this down to Pennine foods.  Woodhouse mill always smells like poo especially on weekends when people have been on the beer, kebabs and curry, you can litrally taste it somtimes when you drive past ! Vini   10 #18 Posted October 11, 2015 Is this the 'burning clutch' smell? Lived around here for 5+ years, but only just learnt about this via the petition, and recently noticed a smell much like a burning clutch...
 Share this content via...

muddycoffee   10 #20 Posted July 3, 2016 Is anyone else detecting a bad smell tonight? I went out for a walk but the smell seems to be difficult to find the source.  I'm getting it at Woodseats but I wonder if it is a big dump on fire or something a fair distance away. top4718   838 #21 Posted July 3, 2016 Can also smell this in S26 (Kiveton Park) today. Only noticed it fairly recently, whereas some of the facebook discussion suggests it's been going on for years.  I got a sniff of what smelled like stink bombs near Kiveton yesterday.
