SupremeCC Â Â 10 #1 Posted October 7, 2015 Hi, do any local small businesses use google adwords?? If so whats your budget? Does it work? Any info appreciated. Looking into different marketing ideas and researching what works and what doesn't. Most of my work is word of mouth, referrals, repeats etc but always looking to grow. Thanks Steve
 Share this content via...
Marx   10 #2 Posted October 7, 2015 You can see how many people it brings to your website. What they do when they get there depends on how good your website is at converting clicks. You can set the daily spend and see what effect it has. It also depends on which keywords you pick. PM me if you want to discuss options. I am happy to impart some free advice. H_Hounds   10 #3 Posted October 13, 2015 I think Marx is thinking of google analytics, which you should definitely have, and that's free.  If you haven't got good SEO, I would consider using adwords while you work on your SEO. Once you have set your budget, id half it and put half towards ads on FB too. Just try it for £2 a day for a week or something and see what comes of it.  ---------- Post added 13-10-2015 at 08:05 ----------  I would also change your link in your signature to 'carpet and upholstery cleaning' as I had no idea what you offered and had to click on your link to find out. Doing that also helps with keywords. Hope this helps
 Share this content via...

Thanks Steve  5 figures per month on paid advertisement. My advice is look closely at the competitiveness of your market or niche as essentially you are competing bidding on keywords. keyword research and competitor analysis.  Decide what outcome you desire and set some KPIs. leads, sales, sign ups, sales volume?  What are the most important metrics to your business? CPA etc. Automate reports around your key metrics.  Adgroup structure is really important too.  Adwords campaigns work better / better ROI with high ticket items and services generally. Mighty Clean   10 #5 Posted October 13, 2015 Hi  My business on end used Adwords in the early days and now has a great organic ranking through just driving large volumes of traffic to the site relevant or otherwise and within just 6 months of tweaking the sites content alone and title tags, and image tags vs a 10yr company on the same market score of 71 I've achieved 78 which let me tell you was no easy doing but not so difficult at the same time just a little time consuming but then if your using analytics well it is a lot easier to monitor too. So my advice is research your target competion and see how well there site ranks and then aim to beat there SEO report in the modifications asked of them and there site...and save £'s meanwhile optimising your site for Adwords then launch onto Adwords.. Just my opinion and has worked extremely well for me good luck with your business venture.
 Share this content via...

TJC1   10 #7 Posted October 13, 2015 Hi thanks for the replies and advise. Ive decided to use a professional company who specialise in adwords, im also having a new website built. Although not cheap i will see how things go over the next few months. Thanks again.  Good luck with the agency. Make sure to get a return on your investment dude, insist on comprehensive reporting, that's all I can say to you.  Here's some reports you might want to understand:  • Ad group cost & conversions report • Product CPA per adgroup keyword report • Day of the week report (you running ads mon-fri or weekend trade too?) • Top vs other report • Top movers report • Hidden keyword report  you might also want a cross device report, phone and tablet visits could be as much as 60-80%.  I'd read up on Adwords, sites like wordstream, ppchero, hanapin marketing - at least get some basic understanding. Dont leave it all in the hands of the agency.  Another good tip: as your spend increases use the Google agents, they will troubleshoot and give you great advice for making the most from your spend.  That's my best advice
 Share this content via...
