VicD Â Â 10 #1 Posted October 7, 2015 When I was a kid living in Brown Street, Rotherham, my parents took in a Polish couple (refugees) I believe her name was Helen and her husband was I think Adam. This was back in the late forties early fifties. Later in life I went out with a young lady, Ursula Reder. Her father was Polish and I think his name was Ludwig. Her mother was Italian and called, I think, Maria. I have it in my head her home town was Genoa. I would love to know what happened to Helen and Adam or to the Reder family. Although this is a bit of wishful thinking considering the little amount of background hopefully it will jog the memory of someone on the forum. hillsbro   32 #2 Posted October 7, 2015 (edited) Hi VicD - you have a good memory! The births index shows an Ursula M. Reder who was born in Rotherham in 1947. Her mother's maiden name is given in the index as Queirolo. Ursula evidently married a Graham M. Brown in the Woolwich registration district in 1968. The electoral roll shows a Ludwig V. and Maria T. Reder in Rotherham. Edited October 7, 2015 by hillsbro
 Share this content via...
VicD Â Â 10 #3 Posted October 8, 2015 Thanks for that information Hillsboro, I wonder if any of them are still alive. Yes I do have a good memory especially of growing up in Rotherham and Sheffield, (I used to stay with my auntie who had a newsagents in Gower St). Both Sheffield and Rotherham were scruffy places then but busy and prosperous plus has kids we had virtual freedom to roam.
 Share this content via...
