kathyp   10 #1 Posted October 4, 2015 Hi just wondering if anyone has cordless electric hedge trimmers I could borrow, so that I can trim the acres of hedge that surrounds my allotment. Please help.....or recommendations where I can get such an item. Thanks in advance.
 Share this content via...
Janus   28 #2 Posted October 4, 2015 (edited) If you are considering buying cordless I would suggest petrol. The Stihl are good apparently. Available at Fosters in Rotherham or most garden machinery supplier. Also online. You won’t need anything large for domestic use.  http://www.stihl.co.uk/STIHL-Products/0600/Hedge-Trimmers-and-Long-Reach-Hedge-Trimmers.aspx Edited October 4, 2015 by Janus
 Share this content via...
joat36 Â Â 10 #3 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) I have a Stihl petrol hedgecutter and it is brilliant except it is very heavy at 5kg. This year I bought a Bosch 18v battery hedge cutter it is also brilliant and only weighs 2.2kg. It manages to cut a full allotment, 260ft of hedging (min 4ft high) on one charge. Â That sounds brilliant. I went from electric to petrol a few years ago, far more convenient but very heavy after 20 mins or so. I got a new cordless drill this year and have been really impressed with its power and life. I might look at cordless hedge trimmers for next year.
