Car problem, can you help..

We have a 2006 ford fiesta and are unable to get the bonnet up, when we pull the release lever in the car, nothing happens, what can we do.? :huh:

As you pull the lever, press gently on the bonnet where the catch is. Might just take a bit of tension out.

You may be able to get a screw driver under the edge of bonnet to release the catch,sounds like the cable has broken or come loose.

As a temporary work around you should be able to open it if you get someone to push down on the bonnet whilst you pull the release at the same time.

 

If you take the trim off near the bonnet release catch you can see if the cable has come off the mechanism, this image should show you (it happened to mine a while back)

Try getting someone to pull the bonnet up as you pull the lever, sometimes the spring may not be up to the job...
