The one in a thousand that might be genuine would speak to the driver if he had any sense.  They`re not all scammers, as I said in the opener I was caught with no bus ticket and no change as a lad in Sheffield city centre. As for speaking to the driver, have you any reason to believe that would achieve anything ? I`m not saying it wouldn`t because I don`t know, I`m just asking whether you do know. The link I put on earlier about the Nottingham student who was attacked because the bus driver threw her off for being 20p short of the fare would tend to indicate that bus drivers would not be accomodating to someone short of a fare.
